Minards......How does it stay the same? May 19th, 2005
What can I say.......a seamless trip down memory lane, and no disappointments. Just had to get take out while driving through home town......and oh, what a treat. How does it remain like it was in the 50's and 60's????? Incredible.

All over the US May 7th, 2005
I have been to Italian restaurants coast to coast and Minards is #1. In fact, I now compare everyplace I eat with Minards and nobody has come remotely close. I have paid several hundred dollars for a meal in the best restaurants and still they do not compare. I live 6 hours away from Clarksburg and have at times considered making the drive just to go to Minards.

Childhood Memories at Minard's Dec 8th, 2004
Through the years growing up in Clarksburg, we celebrated the events of our lives at Minard's. It was always a treat for me as a child to go to Minard's for spaghetti and meat balls.

If I was sick and couldn't get there, my Daddy would go pick up my favorite food and bring it home to me.

The last time I went home for my Daddy's funeral, I went alone for a meal at Minard's to find comfort in my favorite restaurant where we had celebrated the events of our lives. I needed the familar food and the cozy ambience. I needed a safe haven and good food to somehow fill the emptiness.

I was afraid it might have changed and it wouldn't taste the same and I would feel more loss but I ordered the ususal starting with my favorite salad with vinaigrette dressing. I tasted the first bite and started to cry. It was exactly the same taste and it was perfect and brought back a flood of wonderful warm lovely memories. I have tried to duplicate that salad dressing here in California for my own family but I never get it right.

The waitress rushed over to console me. It seems she had just moved to Clarksburg from California where I live now. It was such a coincidence. She gave me the kind of service I had always known, which was treating you as if you were family.

I ordered the ususal spaghetti and meat balls and it was just as delicious as I remembered. It also tasted exactly the same. That day I needed everything to be the same and taste the same to feel that some wonderful things from my childhood still existed.

Thank you, Minards for the consistent great food and service

Every time I'm in Clarkburg I go to Minard's Oct 18th, 2002
I discovered Minard's about 6 years ago on a trip from Chicago. My wife has family in the Clarksburg area so we make it to West Virginia often. Every time we go to Clarksburg we go to Minard's. I've never had a bad meal there, in fact, I've always had a great meal there.

Italian Cuisine in a Family-Run Establishment Jul 8th, 2001
Minard's Spaghetti Inn is one of the finest Italian restaurants in the Clarksburg-Bridgeport area, an area with plenty of fine Italian food. The restaurant is situated slightly out of town, off of Rt. 50. The extensive menu is sure to please everyone, with baked pasta dishes, spaghetti, steaks, salads, fish, and pretty much everything else.
The atmosphere is quite pleasant and the staff friendly. The wait staff is slightly understaffed, but that means less fussiness, which most diners will not mind.
The food is quite fresh--the salad with the house dressing tastes as if it were picked straight from the garden and doused with a freshly made vinaigrette. Those with a taste for nouveau cuisine need not dine here--all of the specialties are old-world Italian--with all of the wonderfully sinful delights--Italian sausage, ricotta cheese, and plenty of red sauce.
All in all, Minard's is definitely a pleasurable dining experie
