The large pizza here is the best in the area. Almost as good as a NYC or Philly pizza. It is extra large in size 20 inches, that yields 8 large slices. The small individual pizza are a different breed, much like Bertucci's or Macaroni Grill.
Howard-2002 is right the amount of pasta is small compared to many Itailian resturants. But it is much more authentic than say what you would get at an Olive Garden or like chain.
My only ping on this resturant would be the Subs. The home made italian roll are much too hard and doughy and completly overpower anything that is placed upon them. |

The food is wonderful. I've had the Riccata lovers pasta sampler and a pizza for one. The pasta sampler was the best I've had ever. Service was outstanding! |

I ate their twice, and I guess I forgot that the pasta portions are incredibly, stingily, small. This is a total turnoff. These people don't have a clue how to make it attractive for customers to return. I won't. The branch in Tysons Corner is much better. |

The pizza and calzone here are definitely a notch above the other chains. Doesn't quite match up to the pies you'll find in DC at Faccia Luna, Pizzeria Paradiso, or Matchbox, but if you're stuck in Herndon, you won't be disappointed by Luciano. |
