My wife and I had been traveling for quite a while that day and were tired. She found the L'Italia listing in a AAA Guide Book and we were delighted at the fine food and service!! What a great find! We were able to speak in Italian to the owner and the service and food were extremely good! We have been to Italy many times and feel we know good Italian food. It is difficult to believe that some people did not have a good experience at this Restaurant... then again some people may not be used to good food..... Italian or any other kind!! Definitely worth a visit. There were not any details or flaws that we didn't care for although the ratings did not give me a choice...gave four stars because it was not the best but certainly would have to rank very high on our list of many fine Italian Restaurants |

We loved it! We went early for dinner and were treated very special. Our meal made our heart skip a beat, and the portions were respectably large, but not overwhelming. The glasses of wine were quite generous, and the garlic bread was a crispy, homemade heavenly delight. The main dishes were fresh, flavorful and colorful beyond words. True authentic cuisine. Even the music was enchanting. We wish it were closer to home. |

Great place. The atmosphere was perfect, I felt like I was right in Italy. The service was spectacular and the owner even came to our table more than once to make sure everything was ok. The food was to die for. I had the chicken alla cacciatore, which is a breast of chicken sauteed in a wine sauce with fresh tomatoes, herbs, mushrooms and black olives...It was perfect. I've never had Italian food like this. Definately recommended to anyone. |

This local favorite has been slowly upgrading service and quality over recent years. A recent remodeling of the decor and menu have made this one of Western VA's finest restaurants. |
