My husband and I dined on a Saturday night at Adolfo's. The food was okay, however when we asked for the wine list we were told they had merlot, chianti, and white. So, we ordered a bottle of chianti. We drank it even though it was not very good especially since our waiter ignored us most of the night and we didn't get to tell him gow bad the wine was. Regardless, we paid $27 for the wine. Not a bad deal until I went to the local grocery the next day and saw the exact same bottle for $5.99. Now, I worked in the restaurant industry for years and never have I seen a wine marked up over 4 times the cost. I called to complain the next day and basically they blamed it on the wine rep. |

About two years ago my wife and I were down for a long weekend in late summer, when we learned of a pub-crawl along Frenchman Street. We had not been to any of the establishments on Frenchman so we decided to venture out. We happened to pick Adolfo's as a place to eat based on some of the comments we overheard and in response to our inquires of those wandering along on the pub-crawl. As we wound our way up the dim stairs to the second floor the air was filled with the most wonderful fragrances hinting of the delicious dishes to come. While a little low on ambiance, the food is terrific and when you consider the building housing the restaurant has been there who knows how long - maybe the setting is just right. Each time we find the dinning experience just as enjoyable if not more so than the last. Now Adolfo's is on our permanent list of restaurants we try to rotate visiting during our frequent trips to our second home in the Quarter. The pork tenderloin is probably my favorite dish, but the rack of lamb and the veal were not far behind as are all the seafood dishes. My wife loves the Cannelloni eggplant dish and the pannée Chicken. We highly recommend it. |

I have looked over some of the other reviews and I can honestly agree with every word that they write. Adolfo makes the most wonderful food. It doesn't even seem like you are eating out. His family make you feel like they are serving you right at home. If you haven't eaten here you definately should because you would be missing the best part of New Oreans. |

The man hand picks his ingredients and coaxes them into perfection. Every plate of food I have eaten at Adolfo's has been a culinary treat. Manuel served us like we were family. The local art hangs on the walls and you can hear and smell your food cooking. This is a real chef's place. Do yourself a favor. Go to Adolfo's. I'll be there next week.

Everytime time I visit my daughter, Deanna and her husband Kenny Holladay and little Millie, I insist on taking them out to Adolfo's. There is nothing I do not like on the menu and its always a treat. I only wish I could visit more than twice a year. |

My husband and I gladly make the hour and a half drive from our home in South Mississippi to Adolfo's about once every three months! We first visited Adolfo's two years ago on a tip from a local who seemed to think that this tiny restaurant was one of New Orleans' best kept secrets. Every meal that we have had a Adolfo's has been absolutely perfect. Chef Adolfo Perez takes his business very seriously, and genuinely desires to please his patrons. The service has definitely improved over the past two years, as Adolfo has recruited some of his family to help him run the restaurant.
One thing is certain, if you don't leave Adolfo's craving to come back for more, then you need to have your taste buds examined! |
