This attractive but informal restaurant has been a local favorite for over 13 years. Family owned by Tomaso and Patricia Maggiore and located conveniently between La Costa and Carlsbad, this hidden jewel lies nestled in a strip mall near El Camino Real. Don't let the location turn you away because the Italian dishes are truly remarkable. Chef Joey Maggiore has many signature dishes for your enjoyment including my favorite, Osso Bucco. The fresh fish is also a hit and the pastas are top notch. Try the Florentine cannelloni which is filled with braised veal, chicken and wild mushrooms. The entree prices range from $12.95-$26.95 and the wine selection is outstanding. Service is always excellent and the Sommelier can suggest a good wine paring for any meal. Reservations are recommended and I advise getting a table or booth in the front of the restaurant. There are more tables in the back room, but the ambiance is less than desirable if you end up there. Tuscany Ristorante is also open for lunch from Monday to Friday at 11:30 am to 3:30 pm with Happy Hour with full bar is from 3:30 pm to 6:30. Dinner hours are from 4:30 to 10:30 pm. On the weekend, only Dinner is served from 4:30 to 10:30 pm. |
